The Process of Becoming More Like Christ - Sanctification and Growth

Mature disciples worship Christ, walk with Christ, and work for Christ.

A person committed to a relationship with Jesus focuses on:

    1. Worshiping Him through a lifestyle of obedience and through corporately gathering to praise Him.
    2. Walking with Him through personal spiritual disciplines (Bible study, prayer, fasting) as well as gathering with other believers to mutually build, encourage and challenge each other to a deeper relationship with Christ.
    3. Working for Him through shouldering weekly kingdom responsibilities in the church as well as being involved in the community through serving others and sharing the message of Jesus.

The person engaging in these three areas will experience significant growth in personal sanctification and therefore will experience a closer personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and will become "mature in Christ."—Colossians 1:28.

We are committed to multiplying the godly characteristics of leaders' lives into others.—2 Timothy 2:2.

We strongly believe this multiplication of ministry is key to the healthy growth of the church.

We believe the disciples of Jesus Christ should minister to one another in the local church, rather than one or a small number of professional pastors bearing total responsibility to care for the entire congregation. God has given spiritual gifts to all of His people to provide mutual ministry in the context of the healthy and strong local church—Ephesians 4:11-12.

Therefore, a major emphasis at Harvest is small groups. Members are expected to be a part of a small group where they can experience authentic life relationships and mutual ministry with other believers.
